Review of the Olympus E – P3 digital pen

Third-generation model “Pen” Lighthouse maintains sumptuous style retro while that fortunately press into an integral flash

Olympus E – P1 of the end of 2009 was the first hybrid of SLR interchangeable lens compact digital to us really excited, his style largely magnificent survival of the 1960s and robust finishing steel brushed. Two years later the third E – P3 of generation model arrived and fortunately very few things have changed, except minimum tweaks for the better.

Most notable is, finally, a pop-up flash in the upper plate. Handling wise, some features have been adopted end models E-PL1/E-PL2 below. It’s on-line Guide that allows less experienced users to manually adjust the depth of field via a screen cursor instead of having to knew nothing at the opening.

The proportions of the E – PPP are 122×89.1×34.3mm, therefore, even with the ability to experience unscrew the handle, is one for your bag instead of a jacket, with a weight of 321 g body only.

Olympus E – P3 controls (ease of use)

With the addition of welcome from the pop up flash, the shooting mode dial, which was formerly recessed in the top plate has swapped over the other side of the hotshoe, nestled beside high shutter button. Scene and object recognizing intelligent reliable point to allow Auto mode and filming the operation also included here are the creative program auto, priority at the opening, obturator Quartet priority for those who want to get their hands on. Controls of screwing are many and mainly the led button, apart from a scroll wheel scrolling Checklist surrounding its multi-directional joystick.

Olympus E – P3 screen

The number of physical checks is something surprising because E – P3 offer also touch control screen. It is therefore possible avoid using the touch screen entirely if wanted, and in truth it is not add us much to the camera; We would have preferred the adjustable screen angle introduced workplace E – PL3 beach. In the absence of an optical viewfinder clip, however, we are dependent on the screen of the composition and review and fortunately this is where it’s assets with a view of life as the technology of OLED and 610 k-point resolution.

Olympus E – P3 speed (performance, essentially)

Olympus has provided E – P3 with a redesign 14-42 mm screw objective zoom which is much quieter than before when the automatic development of adjustment. This proves a boon during the recording of Full HD video clips. Its main claim is however not for more silent world but rather fast autofocus, a claim also made by Panasonic to its same cameras system g series. We tested this boast the GF3 model alongside the E – P3 and one finger on each shutter release button, declaring a draw.

Olympus E – P3 battery

The Olympus E – P3 of rechargeable lithium ion battery is good for a beating of 330 respectable for a full charge, just 10 images less than the Panasonic GF3 physically smaller. The two are slightly above the average results for the duration of the power.

Olympus E – P3 photos and videos

We were able to play with the E – P3 with not only provided general standard its zoom, but also with its new glass 12 mm heavyweight first lens – 750 quid on its own – to portrait of shooting. This allowed us to reach some lovely low depth of field – in focus, ears eyes effects of focus – for more professional results that are achievable with nothing more than a digital SLR. However if you want results sharp pin and do not mind on smaller form factor, we a DSLR is even more marked. On the Art filters are also worth singling out praise, with your drama mostly gravelly and bright mode. They can be applied to the video and stills – which really raises the game for the E – P3.

Olympus E – P3 Verdict

Although it seems positively chunky ranged against simultaneously released Lumix DMC – GF3 lens interchangeable compact camera Panasonic – which uses the same mirror-less mechanism and core sensor technology – E – P3 brushed metal finish breathes real class; sufficient to suggest a price of £ 749 label might actually be paid. The inclusion of a pop-up flash is something that that we asked for, for the past two years, so we are particularly pleased to see here without adding to the core implementation.

HomeReviewsCamerasDigital CamerasCanon IXUS 310 HS ReviewPosted by Rachael of Cruze set March 24, 2011.

A compact high quality touch screen with superb video

When we examined the Canon IXUS 300 HS, we were disappointed the low resolution of the LCD screen. Well, it looks like Canon took notes because the new IXUS 310 HS is shipped with a huge 3.2 inch touch screen LCD with an impressive resolution of 461,000 point. We will see what remains Canon has improved for the new model…

Canon has always reach strengths with the aesthetics of its IXUS range and the IXUS 310 HS testifies to this: elegant, stylish and sexy too, with it are full metal body giving it an expensive appearance. 100.6 X 55.4 x 25.0 mm, the camera is small but not tiny or ultra thin and thus it is comfortable to hold and 185 g feels reassuring conclusive in hand.

The back of the camera is dominated by the huge 3.2 inch LCD (it is just the LCD button and play at the back). Virtually all of the controls have been regulated to the touch screen display (although there is a handy switch for Auto on the top panel). Users will quickly find, they address how to access all the different parameter to and controls the interface touch intuitive, which we are pleased to report is accurate and sensitive, it is not frustrating that some touch screens can be.

Canon Digital IXUS 310 HS: features

And the touch interface, speed is a major feature in the Canon Digital IXUS HS 310, which is capable of shooting 3.4 shots per second at 12 1MP full resolution and a 8.2 shots per second at 3MP. Really, it is very fast and will use the camera for sports fans. It’s just a shame the 4.4 x optical zoom is not longer, to raise this call, but you can have it all for a price of £ 250, right? Super Slow Motion film can slow the movement up to 1/8th of the actual speed that a pleasure to use.

We were really impressed by the quality of the films produced by the Canon IXUS 310 HS. Full HD (1080p) format recording is of very high quality with a very impressive stereo sound. The camera is also equipped with dynamic is, who has worked a treat when we tested the camera on a boat when the sea was a little rough.

Intelligent auto is an another more point grand Canon IXUS 310 HS, where the camera selects 32 different scenes and allows about stem think only to composition and rewarded with exposed photos perfect. The camera has a plethora of scene modes and also some fun effects, including fish-eye effect, effect Miniature and Toy camera effect.

Canon Digital IXUS 310 HS: Image quality

Although the HS Canon IXUS 310 lens may not be as long as we would like, the 24 mm f/2.0 is wonderfully bright and banging low light, but the images captured with a high shutter speed. Noise is reduced to the minimum: barely visible up to ISO 400 and as with most compact cameras in this range, the quality decreases after 800 ISO. Overall, the Canon IXUS HS 310 produces images of impressive quality: optical IS is an excellent job of reducing blurriness (there were none in our test photos), the images are crispy, skin tones are flattering and colours are punchy but unrealistic step.

The touch screen would not be for everyone, bu, it is of high quality camera compact offer high-speed shooting, tactile interface responsive and high quality video. A fantastic little point and shoots.
